Versatile is probably the best word to describe me.
Equally at home in a tight, well-rehearsed musical ensemble, or living on the edge in a pick-up band, my schedule for over 30 years has included literally thousands of performances at concerts, festivals, special events, corporate and private functions, and also in theaters, churches, nightclubs and restaurants.
In the studio, I've played drums and created drum loops or sequences for numerous CD's, demos and live applications in a wide range of styles. Whatever the setting, my goal is always to get immersed into the spirit and true nature of the music, because it's there that one finds the most appropriate thing to play.

Miscellaneous |
Member of Local 148-462 American Federation of Musicians
Some steady engagements have included 4 years as house drummer at Cafe 290's Jazz Jam (Sandy Springs, GA), and 18 months as a staff musician at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead (Atlanta, GA).
I've played in the praise band at Dunwoody Baptist Church for over 14 years. (There's a quick shot of me at 0:47 during the DBC home page video.)
Performed at countless rock, jazz and R&B nightclub gigs, corporate parties, conventions, debutante balls, weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, etc. I've also worked with choreographers to develop pieces for modern dance routines. Played on music heard on NBC's "Lipstick Jungle", ABC Family's "Greek" and the Weather Channel. While the majority of my work has been in the Atlanta area, national touring experience has included gigs in NYC, LA, Chicago,
Miami, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, DC and dozens of
smaller towns.
Some of my "stranger" experiences include:
- Playing inside of a hospital's Labor & Delivery Ward for it's Grand Opening.
-
Member of a group backing a hypnotist who proceeded to hypnotize the piano player on the gig.
-
Member of a jazz trio booked by an agent on New Year's Eve -- we showed up in tuxes only to find out the people were wearing jeans and wanted mostly country music! We limped through it by playing instrumental versions of such classics as "Crazy" and "Boot Scootin' Boogie."
The list goes on...
